What is Cost per Watt?
Cost per watt (£/W) is the standard way to compare solar panel system prices. It is calculated by dividing the total system cost (including installation) by the system's total capacity in watts.
Example: A 4,000-watt (4 kW) system costing £6,000 has a cost per watt of £1.50.
Average cost per watt in the UK: £1.25–£1.50 per watt for most residential systems.
